Arrangement – E.Abusalimov and D. Shatunovski Although a plot of this operetta is rather simple and familiar, it still appeals to the audience because of its optimistic and humorous nature. This is of course a lovestory – young officer and the miller’s daughter is in love with each other, but due to the prejudices they have to part. He is now a Duke and has a very high rank, and she is incredibly rich. Duke Danilo has to marry her due to state interests but he’ll be damned if he does so. The actors are very truthful and sincere in their parts and you will be undoubtedly taken with the characters’ feelings.
