MORTEN HARKET, EX-VOICE OF "A-HA"
Morten Harket was brought up in a well-educated religious family and dreamed of becoming a priest while being a young man. He even went to study theology at university, but left this career behind when “A-ha” was founded in 1982. Despite numerous difficulties the musicians encountered when they first arrived in London, their first single "Take on me", released in 1985, became a smashing hit. In the ten following years the band has released five studio albums and a collection of hits. In 1994 the band broke up, reuniting in 1998, but in 2009 they have officially announced that “A-ha” no longer was. While being a member of “A-ha”, Harket was still working on his solo career. His solo album “Poetenes Evangelium”, done in Norwegian, was released in 1993 and Morten Harket’s talent as a lyricist became obvious when his next album, “Wild Seed” was released and took over many of the world’s charts. The "Tilbake til livet" single from “Vogts villa”, 1996, became a hit in Norway, and in 2008 the musician finally released his second English album, “Letter From Egypt”. Morten currently works with various artists, performs solo and appears at the most significant events. He is also known to have numerous most exotic and unexpected interests, from campaigning for the environmental protection to yoga and gardening.
Sadly, we will never see an “A-ha” show anymore. But on April, 24, at Moscow’s “Crocus City Hall” Morten Harket will be presenting both his new solo compositions and the well-known “A-ha” hits.
