ROXETTE

The return of the legend!
A one and only concert of the legendary band!
Only the best hits, wonderful evening and fantastic atmosphere!

"Roxette" was the first popular export project from Sweden in the middle on the 90-s. It combines the intriguing reputation and remarkable mix of popular and rock-music in their repertoire songs. The band is made of two singers: Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle.
Their history has started from the song "Svarta Glas", written by Per. He has asked one of Swedish singers to record it, but she refused. Then Per had translated the song into English – the name of the English version was "Neverending Love". Rolf Nygren from EMI offered Per to sing it together with Mary, whom he has already seen before – they have first met in 1977 and in 1981 Marie has sung with him for "Gyllene Tider". Marie has accepted his offer and their single "Neverending Love" has become the hit in Sweden!
The name of the band, “Roxette” comes from the "Dr. Feelgood" song of the 70-s, one of Per’s most favorite bands. In 1986 “Roxette” has released their first album in Sweden, the "Pearls Of Passion", and in 1987 they have started a concert tour "The Rock Runt Riket Tour" across their country. In 1988 in Sweden has been released the second album, "Look Sharp!".
“The Look” signle has become the #1even before the official release of the album in the world! In the end of the 1989 "Roxette” have once again hit the top with the song "Listen To Your Heart", familiar to everyone, and have set into their first European tour. In 1987 Per has written another song, now well-known by the audience as "It Must Have Been Love (Christmas For The Broken Hearted)" and with just several changes this song has made its way into the original soundtrack of the “Pretty Woman” movie starring Julia Roberts and Richard Geer. The third album of “Roxette” , named "Joyride", has been released in 1991. The name of the album originates from the Paul McCartney’s words about writing songs with John Lennon being a long joyride. In the 1994 a new album, "Crash! Boom! Bang!", has been released by the band. Around 5 million copies of that album have been sold all over the world and then “Roxette” launched their around-the-world tour. But during that tour the band didn’t visit to USA, as the American EMI office decided that the concert wouldn’t be successful enough.
In 1995 EMI company has released "Roxette’s" "Rarities" in several countries of the world. In October the "Don’t Bore Us - Get To The Chorus! Roxette’s Greatest Hits" has seen the light. The album included 14 super hits and four new songs. In the beginning of 1996 “Roxette” has released "Baladas En Espanol" made of the several of their best ballads recorded in Spanish.
In 2001 new single "The Centre of the Heart" has been released. Interestingly, a few people apart from “Roxette’s” fans by that time knew that the band still existed. In June, 2001, the "Room Service" album has been released, and then the “Real Sugar” single followed. The next was the super ballad "Milk & Toast & Honey" which has become a #1 in several European countries, including Spain.
