The event that will take place on the 25th of August, 2010, on the “Luzhniki” big sports arena (BSA), may be considered to be historical. The legendary band “U2” will give the first and the only one concert in Moscow on that evening! The magnificent show will become a part of the great musicians’ world tour "360° Tour" which has been designed to support their new album. This concert promises to become the main musical event of the forthcoming season.
“U2” band is rightfully considered to take far from the last place in the list of the most successful music bands in the world. They have been constantly proving it with their repeatable fantastic success, undying popularity and albums sold in millions of copies. All this puts them at the very top of the world’s musical Olympus and explains the status of “U2” as the cult band for many generations. Show that will take place in “Luzhniki” is sure to amaze even the most skeptical audience. By the amount of stage sets, special effects and technical equipment that event is unprecedented by any other ever seen in Moscow.
The specially equipped stage, situated at the very middle of the football field, stage design, lightning – all that demands a brand new approach to the organizing of the show. An approach much more professional and elaborate than it has ever been in Russian show-business.
This ultimately unique stage will of course become the main speciality of the forthcoming concert. The stage will be round, reminding the aliens’ spaceship with a barrel shaped screen in the centre. The screen will be 25 meters in the diameter and will make everything going on the stage clearly seen from any point of the venue. This will help to make sure absolutely everyone from the audience will leave the concert with unforgettable impressions. The team is going to use two hundred trucks to transport all that! Bono and his fellows admit that this stage has become the biggest of all ever built in the history of the band and the show itself – the most expensive in the history of the world’s show business!
During the international tour the band will visit thirty one city in Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Croatia, Great Britain and USA. In total “U2” plans to give from 90 to 100 concerts. This will be the most massive tour since the moment the band has been founded with more than 100 million dollars spent on its organization. That’s why today we can already say that the “U2” concert will be among the most remarkable, memorable and ambitious projects of 2010.
